JAK HOUSDEN - TO DIE FOR
JAK HOUSDEN
RELEASES HIS DEBUT SINGLE
“TO DIE FOR”
NOVEMBER ‘05
“To Die For”, the first single to be lifted from Jak Housden's impressive debut solo album “Mad About Disco” will not disappoint. Masquerading as a love song, it's a lyrically clever tongue in cheek take on late night 0055 commercials. To Jak "It's all about having a laugh at those "sexy girls" that appear on TV commercials late at night suggesting that your life will improve somehow if you call them now!"
Over the past decade Jak Housden has built up a reputation as one of Australia’s premier guitarists. A founding member of the Badloves and currently a key member of the Whitlams, Jak reveals on his solo debut album just why he is such a revered talent by his peers.
Don’t expect to hear the Badloves or the Whitlams though. Influenced by bands such as The Byrds, Sly and the Family Stone and French cult band Pheonix, Jak delivers an eclectic mix.
From the guitar driven rock/pop single “To Die For”, to the title track “Mad About Disco” (Jak’s ode to the end of the ‘70’s when “beards were making way for peroxide and spandex”) this is an album that refuses to be straight jacketed.
Jak’s song writing delivers great pop sensibilities flexed by an ironic depth and humor in his lyrics. The result is a musical melting pot of delicious tunes showcasing Jak’s unique voice, recording talent and outstanding musical ability.
“To Die For” will be serviced to radio throughout October with a retail release scheduled for November 14 through MGM.
Join the vibe and catch Jak, his handsome band and soon to be legendary (some would say ridiculous) dancers at a venue near you!
